Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. It has been quite a long time since I have written a newsletter. The last one was to share the transition out from HRC Ministries to serve with the International Disaster Emergency Service (IDES) where I came on board in January 2015 to offer crisis care. When I came on board with IDES they also asked me to serve as the volunteer coordinator. The incredible part is the volunteer outreach program grew so much that it became my full time position. However this is not where my heart and passion lies even though I have immensely enjoyed working with the volunteers. This newsletter is to therefore inform you I have resigned my position from IDES as an exciting new opportunity has come my way that meets the vision and passion God has placed on my heart. My last day at IDES will be September 30th. It has been a blessing to be a part of an incredible ministry and I have learned and grown a lot since serving with them. I have been asked to come on board with Ministry Care (MC). MC exists to assist church and church-related ministry leaders in building and maintaining a ministry that is productive, effective and enduring. MC promotes "self-care" in ministry leaders through services such as electronic publications, counseling, coaching, consultation, seminars and workshops. Working with charitable organizations, missionary groups and national ministry leaders MC promotes individual and group health in order to maintain and grow healthy ministries. MC also provides services that help ministry workers manage emotional, physical and relational health issues. I will return for the next 2 months to Africa, leaving October 4th and returning December 6th. I have been asked to come to Uganda in October to do some teaching at a missionary retreat, help in a crisis pregnancy center and with hospice care. I will then return to Zimbabwe for a few weeks to connect and check in with Rumbie (the woman I worked with for 7 years in Zimbabwe that is now running the counseling ministry there) to see what her needs are as well as do some trauma training with a nursing staff at an orphanage. Finally, I will end my time in Ethiopia doing some follow up teaching with Onesimus, the ministry that works with street kids and one that I have had the privilege of serving with several other times. Ministry Care is a 501c3 therefore your donation will be tax deductible. If you would like to support this endeavor, you can make checks payable to “Ministry Care” and send them to:
Ministry Care 14934 Pacer Ct. Carmel, IN 46032 The new email address to keep in touch is [email protected]. The website for more information is www.ministrycareinternational.org; though we ask for some patience as it is under construction and will be operational by October 1st but fully functional in December when I return. I do ask for prayers for traveling, for God to lead and guide the teaching sessions, for a smooth transition from IDES to MC, for the right volunteer coordinator at IDES to replace me, and for safety. I will report each month on my time in Africa as long as I have internet capability and I look forward to sharing more soon!! Thank you for your love and support through the years from HRC to IDES and now to MC! It is exciting to see what God continues to do on this journey of following Him!!!
