Merry Christmas to all of you! And blessings for 2017! This past week I had the honor of going to church with my family instead of my home church. The pastor spoke on Luke 1:26-38. He had some main points that I feel are very relevant and applicable to where I am at and maybe will be a source of encouragement for each of you as well. As I look to the future of Ministry Care and the Lord's plans for 2017, these 4 reminders came at the exact moment for me. Here are the 4 things the angel told Mary as he appeared to her to tell her she will give birth to the Messiah:
These 4 truths are found elsewhere in Scripture. For example in John 14:27, Jesus tells us, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Joshua 1:9 also commands us to be strong and courageous, to not be afraid or discouraged as the Lord is with us wherever we go. In Matthew 19:26, in response to the disciples question of who can be saved after Jesus tells them it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God, Jesus tells them with man this is impossible but with God all things are possible. Hebrews 13:5 tells us God will never leave nor forsake us. And there are other Scriptures that provide these same reminders! Praise God for such a joyous reminder that these truths are not just for Mary but for us as well! As we celebrate the birth of our Savior tomorrow and look to the future of 2017, let us celebrate that these truths are for us also and rejoice that we can stand on His Word for the upcoming year. Merry Christmas!
